Gianduia – the predecessor of Nutella

Gianduia originated in the early 19th century, particularly in the years after 1806, when Napoleon's trade blockade made cocoa beans expensive and difficult to obtain. Chocolatiers in Piedmont therefore began to mix cocoa with local hazelnuts – and the result was Gianduia – if you like Nutella and chocolate, you must try it!

Ingredients: milk chocolate and gianduja hazelnut chocolate 56% (sugar, hazelnut 25%, cocoa butter, whole milk powder, cocoa mass, emulsifier: soy lecithin, cocoa content min. 26.6%) – hazelnut ("hazelnut piemonte" PGI 23%, hazelnut cream) – cocoa powder – sugar.
May contain traces of: almond, pistachio.
